Reading skills are some of the most important skills to foster in young learners. This program is designed specifically for students in need of extra support in order to lay a foundation of smooth and fun reading and critical thinking skills at a level above their current grade level.  

CPS SEES Classical Test Prep (READING)

***The program supports academic enrichment for the reading section of the CPS Selective Enrollment’s CLASSICAL school admissions testing. Students who need help in math should also enroll in the CLASSICAL math test prep course. 

Previous students now attend Classical schools including:  Skinner West, Skinner North, Bronzeville, Decatur and McDade. 

The curriculum employs research-based techniques delivered through small group instruction addressing the key components of reading:

vocabulary,

grammar

and comprehension.

Please note parent or caregiver attendance and proximity are required.

No make-up sessions are permitted for this short series. 

While CTC prep workbooks are not required, they are recommended and are available for separate purchase.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• You will receive a zoom link to join five virtual sessions. (A link with details on how to join will be emailed to you 30 min before class starts).
• You’ll need wifi and the ability to stream audio and video.
• Each registration includes class access for one device and one student.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: 

Cancellations submitted in writing 24 hours before the start of the program’s first session will be refunded 100%. No refunds after the first lesson has begun. We reserve the right to cancel any scheduled programs as a result of insufficient enrollment. If this does occur, every effort will be made to notify you prior to the start of the program. If the program is canceled due to low enrollment you will receive a full refund. Late arrival, non-attendance or notifying the instructor that you will not be attending does not constitute a refund or free make-up lesson. Make-up lessons are offered as a courtesy and are not guaranteed. Registration program fees are non-refundable once the first lesson has begun.
